Just wanted to post a few pictures of my throttle body cleaning and PCV valve replacement. Looking at the pictures, I don't think that either have ever been performed on my truck (I just got it in Jan'09).

Here's the before, during and after on my workbench:

And I also reset the PCM and the throttle position sensor when finished.

She now purrs like a kitten!

The picture below shows where the TPS is located. There have been several slightly different methods posted in many places as to how to reset the TPS, but the following procedure is the one that is suppose to be the right one. Some one else may jump in here and say otherwise, but it has worked for me each time.

1. Turn the key to ON, DO NOT START ENGINE.
2. Quickly mash the gas pedal to the floor and hold it for 5 seconds.
3. While the throttle is still to the floor, turn the key OFF and wait an additional 5 seconds.
4. Slowly release the gas pedal all the way.

By resetting the TPS, you may very well notice a better throttle response. I surely do!

Funny that you posted this within this week. I just did the exact same maintenance. 70k and it's the first time. I came to this forum to post the same stuff and whadayaknow? You did it already.

I'll just add that O'Reilley Autoparts has the wrong PCV part in their system. I had to get mine at the stealership.

I can already to the improved throttle response. Yippie.

It depends on the person really, but it all took me about 1-1/2 hours. But I've been called a bit of a perfectionist.

HEMI-PUP - Tell em that most of that 1-1/2 was cleaning.

I had such a hard time getting the black grime off the TB, that I actually soaked it in gas. Careful to not wet the electronics of course, just as deep into gas w/o touching the sensor plug and motor.
