Here's the scenario...

I'm in Iraq. My truck is in TX with my dad. He managed to get a length of baling twine wrapped around the lower boot of the CV axle on the passenger side. Not sure how long ago it happened, so I figure to be safe and replace the whole CV axle instead of just the boot. And for good measure, I'll replace the CV axle on the driver's side as well. I also plan on spending a few dollars on a small lift and larger tires. Along with these repairs/mods, I figured that I would get new ball joints too...

The problem is that I can't remember if I just need lower ball joints or if I need uppers too...

Of course, if I was at home, I would consult my Haynes manual, but I don't have that luxury out here, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

That deep in, I would replace the uppers versus getting back into it in a year or so. Seems like a relatively small $$ increase with the rest of the work you have to do. Salute

Pavement was made to be pounded and Chevys were made to rust. (no rhyme needed when you state facts)

Ball joints are def being replaced. Problem is, I've been searching around on the internet and have yet to find any upper ball joints. Everyone has lowers and it was causing me to second guess myself if the uppers were even replaceable. I do have alot of work to do, but that's okay... I've missed working on my Hemi since I've been deployed. I just gotta be careful and remember to pay attention to my girlfriend too!
