I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 QC with 80,000 miles. It started loosing power on take off and then died a couple of times when stopping. I replaced the plugs and plug wires with regurlar OEM parts from my local auto parts store. The truck ran great for a week and then started miss firing. I replaced the PCV and cleaned the throtle body as part of the trouble shooting. The check engine light came on which listed the following codes;
p0300: Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire p0113: IAT sensor 1 circuit high input P2175: TAC System Low AirFlow I think the missing could be from a bad plug wire but I am at a loss. I would like to get some other opinions before replacing plug wires or doing more work. 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 QC |

Welcome to HTC.com Baldino - we're glad you joined us!
Not sure about the P0300, but the other two DTCs could be a faulty or dirty IAT sensor. If you have a CAI with an oiled filter, that might be the culprit... or you might have accidently hit the sensor while cleaning the TB. ______________________________________________________________________________ HTC.com web site HTC.com store HTC.com calendar HTC.com National map 2003 Hemi Ram - Supercharged. 520 HP, 14 mpg... traded in for a 2006 SRT8 Grand Cherokee - bone stock. 420 HP, 16 mpg... traded in for a 2007 BMW 335i - twin turbo. 325 HP, 33 mpg |

Here is a pretty good explanation of the P0300 code. Could be a bad EGR valve and/or ignition wires not connected all the way on. Did you use the dielectric grease on the plug coils and wires when you installed them? The grease really helps to get the connectors snapped all the way on.

The P2175 is a problem at the throttle body. I found this.

Thanks for all the comments. I ensured all the sensor were on tight and removed the plug wires and reattached them using dielectric grease. I started the truck and it is still missing. Good news is the truck was only throwing the P0300 code. I think I have exhausted all the possible cheap solutions. I guess I should start looking for some good plug wires and spark plugs? Anymore ideas?
