Driving home tonight, my water temp went to over 3/4. I turned on the heater whiched helped me get it home. What are the most likely spots to check tomorrow? Thermostat stuck closed?

Well, apparently, you need water, to register a water temp. Mad I opened the reservoir first thing yesterday, and it was empty. I filled it with water, and double checked it this morning, before I left. I got all the way to my destination, about 10 miles, and temps were fine. When I tuned off the truck, I opened the hood and was treated to the sight of water pissing all over the place. Mad Mad. I'm thinking it's a hose, as I didn't see any water coming from the radiator. The fan shroud was in the way of seeing where it might be, so I'm going to take it off, to see what I can see. Any other suggestions?

It seems to have fixed it self. Confused After it puked a bunch of water, I checked the resivoir and it was perfectly full. It's been holding temps just fine. I'
happy and lost all at the same time. I still can't figure out where all the water came from.

BTW-JB Weld is where it's at. Big Grin

I'd flush the system if I were you. It could have been leaking and caught a bad air bubble so it was heating the coolant in the motor without getting colder coolant from the radiator giving you a high reading. Drain it, burp it,check for leaks.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I think the most likely cause is an air bubble. I did see coolant driping off one of the hoses at the bottom of the radiator.
