A stubby ratchet with a swivel in it comes in handy as does a palm ratchet. I also have an extra deep spark plug socket that the drive end sticks out slightly, no extension needed that sticks down in the plug well. I'm looking for the pics right now.

Just google for the palm ratchet and stubby ratchet. But that specific spark plug socket is a must have in my opinion..

When I did the plugs back at the brake booster I laid on an old Army blanket I folded several times and laid it across the radiator support and driver side fender. I laid on my left side and was able to reach those back plugs without undue hassle and strain. I'm coming up on 61 years old and I changed my plugs. It really isn't that bad. It takes a while. Better count on 3 hours the first time. Just plan it all out and you will be fine. Oh, and a magnetic reaching tool can be worth it's weight in gold at times. Wink

I don't think I removed any hoses. It's been a while and I'm not sure. Some of you other guys share your plug changing experience. thumb2

Hey Chief, now you know why my dealership wanted to charge me over $300.00 just to change my spark plugs. It's not that easy, but patience will prevail.

But once you've done it, you can add a "Spark Master" badge to your signature line!

I have the Craftsman Finger Grip Socket Adapter, 3 Pk. Another handy little thing. My philosophy is you never can have too many tools. Wink

I layed accross my motor, used a deep socket and dropped it in the hole, then put a small extention in snapped that together and used a swivel and ratchet. I am really lucky that I am a little missy with small hands.
on the passenger side I had loosened the metal rail just for some room but my overall took me about an hour to do all of the plugs. but I am a very persistant lil thing. I will take some pic after work.

Just FYI chief, the cylinders are numbered 1-3-5-7- on the drivers side, front to back, and 2-4-6-8, on the passenger side. The two under the brake booster are five and seven. professor
