I see that Lakewood is making traction bars for our trucks. Price seems pretty reasonable. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with them, or has heard anything about them. Brandon

The mechanics of the Lakewood bars work well.

The only traction bar setup that I feel is better for our trucks are the CalTracs.

Adjustable preload and they work awesome.

$225 for the Lakewoods, or $350 for the CalTracs.

I had a set of Lakewood traction bars on my '03... unless they have come a long way (as far as strength & quality) since 2003, I would go with either the CalTracs or Moe's Traction Bars.

Here's a pic to compare... Moe's on top, Lakewoods below.

Do the bars just clamp to the springs in front and behind the mounting pad with u-bolts?

If that is all they are I can't justify that kind of money on something I can fabricate for less than $100.

The new Lakewoods are specific for our trucks, ie longer so the snubber contacts the spring eye correctly.

Moe's bars are very nice and well built.

All I am saying if your on a tight budget, the Lakewoods will save you a few bucks and should work just fine.
