New Ram hemi owner (2007 QC 2wd) and new poster here, so bear with me. Smiler I've read all the posts in this forum area and it seems there are three brands of sway bars - Hotchkis, Hellwig and Belltech. Some seem to mount forward, some mount towards the rear and they all seem to have a little different mount system. I noticed a few members had changed from Belltech to either the Hotchkis or Hellwig set up. While I realize that alot of mods are based on personal opinion in regards to their "value", is there one sway bar set that seems to set itself apart from the others? While I am budget minded, I would rather invest a few extra dollars at the start and get a better product then cheap out and be unhappy. Any thoughts anyone has would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard Dadn5kids - we're glad you joined us!
I had the Hellwig on my '03 Ram - definetly felt the difference in handling. The only negative was the poor powdercoat job. I ended up sanding it all down and repainting.

Depends on what other mods you want to do. I have the hellwig bar on mine and works well with the deeper diff cover. I read somewhere that belltech won't work with a deeeper diff cover. Not sure about the hotchkis. You just have to plan ahead and see what will work with each other.

dadn5kids,

Welcome to HTC. I have the Hellwig on mine and it has definitely made a difference. The installation was easy and well worth the investment.

Dad,
If you read up on the 2009 1500 the critics do not care for the rear mounted long armed rear swaybar. They believe a forward mounted short arm version is better (from an engineering point of view). That is the automotive critics opinion.
I am with these guys.... I love my Hellwig. Easy to install, works with almost any mod and really tightened up the backend.

Mods...what mods??

I have the belltech (forward facing), because the truck is lowered 2" in the rear, and didnt want to relocate my spare tire to the bed...

However from a pure performance gain, if i had to do it all over again i would do the Hotchkis setup front and rear. I believe they have a better balanced setup, and from what i remember are adjustable!

but, ANY swaybar is better than no swaybar at all!

Guys, Thanks so much for the fast responses. I'm going to give Hotchkis a call and see if they have developed the TVS system for the 2007 yet. If so, I can knock out a lowered truck with matching sway bars in one purchase. I'll let you know how things turn out. Thanks again for the great info. I know I'll lots more questions for the HTC members.
