ok guys so ive had my truck about a month and a half now, and im extremely happy with it.

but one thing thats bothering me is the terrible traction im getting on the rear end. i can easily spend the tires at a 15mph roll, and when the road are wet its ridiculous i can barely mash the pedal and it spins.

nature of the beast?

any reccomendation?

So is there no answer? I also have this problem it's a unsafe issue to me I know with the back so lite it doesn't help but could it be the tires? I'm still running the stock Goodyears I have heard they are crap. Confused

what about dropping the rear end a couple inches and throwing on some traction bars. i like the way the truck sits now but id rather have the added traction cause it rains alot where im stationed.

1st, get rid of those junk-in-a-years, for just about ANYTHING else!

2nd, it's a truck, it's a hemi truck, and well... it's a hemi truck in the rain.... nothing will keep you from breaking the rears free except the pressure of your right foot. Wink

Yea, I'm still running stock goodyears too and one night at an intersection, I was getting ready to turn right, some little cobalt went by on the other road like 70 or so mph, and I just kind've drove normally, and he hit the next redlight, so I was sitting behind him.

He was doing the whole "vroom vroom big bad 6 cylinder (or 4 maybe)", so when the light turned green I stepped on it just to scare him from behind, the roads were wet, and my whole rear end when sideways a good 5 or so feet.

I think he just about stalled the colbalt out but it still wasn't pleasent having her swing into the empty oncoming lane, lesson learned.

traction bars arent going to hely you, only thing you can do is get rid of those tires and get some grabbers or something that has a AA traction rating.

6.1 cam will decrease your off idle torque a little bit, and get rid of those tires bro, trust me, those tires are most of the problem.

My stock goodyears hooked well on dry pavementand had absolutely no slip at the track. They were dangerous in the rain and when I got new tires my goodyears had 7,000 miles on them and the back ones were bald already.

I was looking at tires the other day on tirerack.com. The General Tires (I forget the model name) had the best rating for trucks and SUVS. I'll probably go with those after my BFGs wear out
