I don't know if they've actually ever removed the windows from my truck to tent them... I've done it on an older dodge (95 Dodge Ram 1500) but not on the 3rd Gen. I had to pretty much disassemble the entire door to get the window out. Just keep looking for bolts and nuts and be really really careful when you get it loose!!

I've never heard of anybody taking the windows out to tint them, you just cut the tint close to window size, then trim it once you have it stuck to the window.

years ago we a buddy of mine started tinting for a living, has been doing it now for over 20+ years.

he would run the tint all the way to the edge, and then as he started his own business he started cutting the edge short for when the window would go into the seal and not roll the tint back.

and YES he did on more then one occasion he did remove the windows to tint but that was typically on one of the many 'show' vehicles and they paid extra for it.

put the door covers back on and leave the windows in and tint away. thumb2
