i was playing with the overhead console and all of a sudden it displayed this, "VAR 8" i can change the # from 1 to 14 by presing the Step button

OK i found out how i did it

That is definitely the compass zone adjustment procedure.
Knowledge of which only comes from RTFM.  Don't forget folks: Gun control is using BOTH hands to put a full mag in the 10 ring.        I view Nitrous like that hot chick with an STD; you want to hit it, but you're afraid of the consequences.... |

 I never found that on my 04 but had to reset it on my 08.
