i'm going to spray paint my center caps flat black today or this weekend. Whats the best way to go about doing it.

I scuffed mine up with steel wool. Then cleaned them up wish dish soap. Sprayed 3 coats of adhesion promoter then let it dry. Sprayed 3-4 coats of paint and let them dry. Then 4 coats of clear.

Current mods: Exterior: 2003 RC short bed Ram. Chrome 20" Motto wheels, 275/55/20 Bridgestone Duelers, tint, functional SRT-10 Hood, Street Scene bumper cover, de-chromed and painted rear bumper, body matched grill shell, mirrors, door handles, tailgate handle and antenna mount, billet grill and bumper inserts, Bushwhacker street fender flares, polished "Ram" 3rd brake light cover. Engine: Flowmaster 40 series dual exhaust, 3rd Strike dual filter with throttle body spacer. Audio: Alpine 9885 with IPod, Infiniti 3.5", 5.25" and 6x9's, two Kenwood DVC 12" subs with three Kenwood amps running it all through Monster Cable wiring. Optima red-top. Interior: Sueded headliner, color matched A&B pillars, overhead console, and rear light surround. Proudly serving our country with the Marine Corps for 12 years. |

maybe he didn't notice i said flat black cuz that doesn't make sense to me either. I would assume it would just be adhesive promoter and paint. |

You still clear flat black, you just don't use gloss. Spray it with matte. If you don't clear them they will get dirty and chalky practically overnight.
