My dealer quoted me $350 for a one-way Remote start parts kit, and $298 to install it!!!! Nearly $650 seems outragous for something that only starts my truck......Doesn't it?

Yeah... Go to Car Toys, or somewhere similar if they don't have those up there.

Yeah, I bought one for around $70 on ebay. An Audiovox 6686T. Recommended by one of my friends that worked at a truck shop. Paid someone else $140 to install it. So $210 for an alarm with remote start. I think it had an alarm. Shoot, I can't remember. But it had the keyless entry, remote start, valet, and a whole plethora of other crap I didn't even use.

You'll need a key module so that the truck will run... All of the newer Rams have a Sentry Key.

I heard to get the keyless entry to work you have to take the remote to a dealer to get it programmed for like 50 bucks, is that right?
My truck didn't come with a keyless entry remote, and if you could get remote start, keyless and all for that cheap it'd be cool.. I am not sure!! I thought that 02-07 had to have the kit with the extra remote... 08 can get the new key all in one remote...
