Has anyone ever put a DashMat in their truck? My dash gets so hot with that big windshield and the Texas sun it cooks anything left out. I think they look kind of getto but if it cuts down on the heat I may try one to see.
Anyone have any comments or ideas?

Why not just get the windshield shade? They make some pretty sweet looking ones that pop open in seconds and are just as easy to take down. My old vehicle had a dash mat, the only issues I had was the hot son would melt the glue that held the velcro in place and then I also had to vacuum the darn thing.

Window shades are alright when your parking but just driving down the road for 8 to 10 hours the dash starts cooking.... I's a long way to Ohio from here. Even further to Canada and back home.
StealinTrucksStylinTrucks has some that aren't priced to bad, but the names of the colors don't sound like the match our interior to good. Can't really tell from the tiny pictures.
The one I'm thinking about says it's like suede leather, not carpet material. dunno

I called StealinTrucks today and while I was on hold I read some of the "comments". Not to good to say the least. Only one was positive.
I ask the sales guy about returns....only if there is something wrong with it. Not liking the way it looks doesn't count. Needless to say I didn't order one. Frowner

RANCHER:

I installed the DashMat model UltiMat (there best form-fitting model) in my 2005 Ram two days after taking delivery with 150 miles on the odometer. My dash and the mat still look like new. I've got a 99' Ram with a dash cracked all to hell and I didn't want that to happen again. I'm in Texas too and the heat can be very unforgiving on the dashboard. I bought my mat in the Taupe color to match the Taupe Leather interior and I think it matches very well with no fading in over three years. I did not use the velcro tape attachments or anything to keep it in place; just allowed it to form-fit to my dash in the hot Texas summer sun of 2005 and have had no regrets since. I feel it is one of the best additions that I've made to the truck and certainly one of the cheapest.
Good Luck with your choice!

Rancher:
As stated in my previous reply above I purchased the Ultimat DashMat from Global Accessories through http://www.truckstuffusa.com/uldasbysad.html
It was $59.99 three years ago - if you like it perhaps one of the vendors on HTC can get you a better price too. I still like mine very well and I don't think it looks cheesy or ghetto. It really beats a faded or cracked dash.

I carry DashMat brand. I believe there is a couple of more brands out there, but they seem to be the most popular. What would you like it done as - color, stitching, etc?

I agree, as I put one in our 05 Hemi and love it. Its no problem keeping cleam and the dash is not subject to heat. I think it looks good too. Mine is the same as above. I strongly recommend it. I did, however, use the Velcro to keep it in place.

My interior is called khaki. Tan & gray to me!
If HemiFun05 and Tom are satisfied with theirs thats good enough for me. I just don't want a piece of crap cover.
See what you can come up with and let me know.
