How much should I limmit my towing. I'm in the market for a tractor?

Tell us some more about your truck. Is it a 1500 or a 2500? Two wheel drive or four wheel drive? Gear ratio and what ever else you can think of.

Oh yea how big is the tractor you are considering buying. And what is the trailer weight? If you are looking at a compact tractor the equilalent of say a Yanmar 1500 you should be OK will be OK with a Dodge 1500.

If you are looking at a big tractor you should get a Heavy Duty. Of coarse this depends on how much weight you are talking about.
If you get a Cummins diesel with dual wheels and a jake break you can tow quite a lot of weight.
