I do not think that any Ram has ever had a 3.7 gear. Now you might have a 3.92. The other gears that I know of in the half ton are: 3.55 and 3.21... All but the 3.21 would be good for towing.

Is your truck a 1500 or a 2500? I am in no way sure of this but I think 2500 were available with a 3:73 gear set. I feel sure if I am wrong that some one will jump in and correct me.

I believe Bamataco is correct on the gear size, I do know that the 1500 only can get the gears I listed above.

If you plan on swapping out your rear end for a locker, I'd go ahead and do gears while you're at it, 4.10's would probably be a good choice for you.

If you have ever noticed that you can only get the 3.92 with the 20"s but you can get 3.55 and the 3.21 with the 17"s??

i did not know that i dint think it would be that big of a deal to get one with 17s and just put the 20s on it. i may just when i goto the posi i might switch to a 3.92 or a 4.10 it prolly aint that much more to switch out the gears to but then do i gotta do the front to? i shoulda started this in the powertrain form but dint see that when i put it here.
