I pull a 27' pull behind camper weighing around 8 to 8500# loaded. With using the "tow/haul" mode the truck still shifts into overdrive running @ 1700 rpm around 57-60 mph. I've read in this forum that you can press the button twice to get the "overdrive off" mode. No light illuminates when I do this so I assume my truck does not have this option.
I see some of you are using the Diablo or Superchip programmer to adjust shiftpoints. Will it help the downshift points also? The truck will not shift out of overdrive until I am damn near to the top of the overpass. Otherwise I have to kick it in the ass and drop 2 gears and fear roasting the tranny. I have purchased a Hypertech programmer and it adds more power to the truck and the shifting is better, however it has not remedied my overdrive proplem? Is there something I have overlooked, don't know about, or can even do anything about?? Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
