Hey everyone, just a few questions. I'm getting two weeks leave from Iraq in Aug and going from Fayetteville NC to Sturgis SD for bike week. The farthest ive towed my trailer is from NC to Daytona FL with one Harley, short tube headers, Superchip on Tow program, and no cam. This time will be with Two Harleys, long tube headers ,sidewinder cam and a SCT tuner.This is two day drive with a 7x12 horton hauler w/ three foot v nose so almost a 7x15 enclosed trailer with tandum axle. Both bikes are 400lb plus bikes and the trailer im not sure but its pretty heavey. Can any one tell me is they have ever towed with a SCT tuner and if they needed a special program, never had a problem with the superchip but had to upgrade for the bigger cam. And second have you guys that tow noticed better or worse fuel consumtion after youve added any of these mods .Trying to plan the trip out and not looking forward to spending $800 for fule one way, if these mods are going to make it worse i would like to know so can plan on saving up a little more. Kinda crazy questions but just seeing what info everyone has to offer. Thanks and it might take a while for me to repond depending on when i can get to a computer. HD

dont know how "hot" your SCT tune is currently... you would be better off asking your tuner this question. I would at the minimum have him pull some timing for sure...

expect to see around 10~11 MPG.
That's what i get pulling two quads (750lbs each) on a 14' open trailer

When I tow Dad's boat(19' bass boat) I get high 12s mpg. But I have reg cab and NO cam . Just S/C.

I guess my biggest concern was the new tuner, my superchip could be programmed for towing and and the tow program helped over long trips. The SCT has the program that i use everyday that feels real strong but with no option for towing. Didnt know if the tow /haul button would be good enough. Ive got a few months to go and working on ordering some new heads so i'll see how that works out before i ask Hemifever for any new updated tunes. I'm pretty sure he said mine will be good for towing just didnt know if anyone with an SCT did anything different while towing that might be helpful,pulling some time sounds like a safe bet so i dont get stranded 18 hours away from home and end up missing my flight back to Iraq. That wouldnt go over very well! Thanks for the info.
