Getting to the point to replace shocks and am looking at the Bilstein HD shocks. Anyone replace OEM with these and what were the improvements? Also, did you notice any loss of towing potential by installing these? Any Moose thoughts appreciated.

Well, I got the Kore leveling kit that came with these shocks.....And love the kit, hate the shocks. I have them front and rear. My front tires running stock wheels and tires will basketball dribble at highway speed for about 2-3 seconds on bridge expansion joins at times, after being put on less that a year ago and less than 6k miles ago. I cringe to think about what 35" tires would do!!!!! I don't want to go with Fox reservoir shocks or something, but it is annoying.

boy that really stinks to hear. looking at all the posts from the half ton guys these looked really promising. i know i bought a 3/4 but it seems that the ride has gotten rougher since i bought it in 03. any other ideas out there on shocks? rancho, edlebrock, etc...?

It's too bad I can't put dual shocks on the front. No issues in the rear at all though. I admit, I like to run 70-75 on the highway, so I do drive it hard enough to show any weak points, but I did not expect that. It doesn't scare me, but it would surely freak out my wife when she uses my truck now and then.

How do you like the leveling kit, and how much did it run?

I really like it. It is not just spacers, but full progressive rate coils along with machined aluminum drop blocks for the swaybar, so everything is done right. I took it to my front end guy for an alignment, and he was really impressed with it as well, and he has owned his front end business for probably 40 years now. Price was close to $500 shipped across the USA from Cali. I highly reccomend Kore and Carli Suspension for any suspension work you may want. IMO they both build awesome stuff. Check them out on youtube as well.

hey guys, i was looking more at the shock stuff and i noticed that you said you were unhappy with the 5100s? i was actually looking in the bilst hd shock...they seem to be different, correct? any exp with those on a moose?
