First off, gears went in 04 HemiSport QC 2WD Stock LSD carrier and 22x10 SRT10 wheels.

Now, the stock 3.92 weren't that bad at all but I was looking for something to where I could break traction at a stand still. Natural thing was to install 4.56 gears. Problem is I still can't spin the tires from a stand still. It almost feels like it takes off a little slower. I can definitely feel the difference if I floor the pedal at about 5-10mph in 1st gear but other than that nothing. When I went up gears in the Mustang to 4.10's it was like night and day but barely noticeable if any in the truck.

Question - Is it possible that something went wrong with the install? It whines a lot on deceleration, sounds almost like a grinding noise. (Brand is Genuine, retained stock LSD and had master kit installed)

Question - Would a stall converter make a big difference with off the line performance?

Anyone have any ideas?

Yep. Bad install. There are only two ways to do gears...right, or again.

I know what you mean about not being able to spin the tires with a 345hp motor. Then last August i started trying to find out why.called Dodge and they said it was the lsd.I said bull$hit.Somebody told me about HTC and found all the ansewer's dodge would'nt tell or did'nt know from all the awesome guy's on this site.Started modding my truck just to hear my 20's bark.It took vararam and a $2000 exhust system to get that. Then i added the diablo. Now it will lay 30ft.or better of rubber and the back end is tring to cacth up with the front.lolol If you want to hear your's spin give diablo a try.(with your 4.56's you'll probably need tire's sooner)lolol

Grinding is bad. Not sure I would be driving it anywhere except back to the shop where they jacked it up.

If you have any question read my post below yours " This could be bad"
I have that grinding sound still after the guy installed the gears 3 times.
Sounds like a 747 is landing behind you at a stop light.

I will be going back to my 3.92s soon.

As for a stall conveyor, if you want great launchs at the track and to
spin your tires at your light....than you need to get one.

Excellent point Art. Maybe Superchips and another tuner may help you with your need
to burn rubber.
