Well local shop said the noise in my truck was in his opinion the driveline??

Pulled the D-line out and will have a local shop check the balance and trueness. Well see? Only $50 to check it - pretty cheap i thought.

If not the d-line guess that leaves the transmission or rearend.

Verdict is in -> Needs a new driveline tube.

Still probably the cheapest fix.

yea well the "local shop" kinda miscalculated his estimate... his $200 became $600.

If you need a driveline - Call Art @ Henson he hooked me up. I should have my new driveline in by monday night.

They are on indefinite backorder for my truck, he had to get one from another dealer.

okay let's clarify something here exactly what are you calling a drive line tube?
and the reason I ask is because i have never had to order a new drive line from the dealer, i have always just gone to my local shop and had them build or re-build one.

this here i purchased, for her truck last summer after the Rally when i found the rear joint was shot.
they replaced all the joints and carrier bearing and rebalanced tube for right at $400.00 which sounds like a lot but they also had to rebuild the long tube because one of the ends had a crack where the un-joint mounts. not sure how that happened Big Grin

and this is JUST the rear drive shaft/tube have not checked the front yet,
that's on the list for this summer. Wink
oh and they guaranteed these joints would out last the truck......hummmm well guess they don't know my wife very well now do they? Big Grin
had right at 69k on her at this point. hoping for another 69 before I trade her in, or get a new one..

driveline tube is the section inbetween the welds of the front yoke and rear flange, on my one piece driveline.

THis local shop does drivelines for irrigation & oil field customers, probably never priced one for a dodge truck or a vehicle probably. But hes is extremely good with balancing and repairing in our area.

What i ordered from ART @ Henson is the complete assembly from transmission yoke to rearend flange. Comes complete bolt in ready with ujoints and everything already assembled.

He was cheaper than any aftermarket aluminum assembly i could find.

Okay then i guess $200 for yours which is less then half the shaft that she needed is not to bad a price Big Grin

but didn't Art quote a higher price then $200?

my local guy's original quote was $200, then he actually called his supplier and his quote went to $600+. That is still using my yoke, flange, and u joints. NO THANK YOU.

Thats when i went to Art.

Art told me just over $400 for the complete new driveline assembly from him. So thats where i got it from.
