I currently have the 9.25 rear with 3.92's. I'm running 35'' tires and may go to 37's in the future. Just wondering if there's a 4.88 gear option for the 9.25? Are they dependable? I'm also entertaining the idea of an axle swap in the future as well. The SRT-10 axle would be cool, but I don't want to limit myself to a 4.56 gear ratio. What other axles are good for a swap?

Unless you go with a custom axle, eg. Rock Jock, 4:88's are not an option. You might be able to swap in a 2500 axle, but then you have 2 different bolt patterns.
SRT10 undersprung rear axle with 4:56 gears, Mcgaughy's 2" drop spindles and Belltech 2" drop coils, supermaxx longtube headers and hi perf cats, Edge Evolution gauge pack, Fiberglass hood with functional shaker ram air, and Airaid CAI, 180 Jet stat Flexalite E fan, Diablo tuner |

Will a wheel bearing from a 2500 bolt in place of my wheel bearing?
I did some searching and found 4.88's for the 9.25. Just not sure if I want to put money into this axle. 04' Quad Cab-SC,E-Fan,CAI=14.5 |

The 9.25 is a corporate axle. Very light duty. The 2500 is a Dana unit. Nothing is interchangeable except maybe the oil.

Oh yeah, I know. I'm just trying to decide the 9.25 is worth putting money into. But having to deal with 35's w/3.92 v.s. fuel mileage it may be worth for the time being. Maybe at least if I went with a ratio of 4.56(which is more popular) it would be easier to sell when I swap rear ends.

Believe it or not, your mileage is going to go up with the 4:56's.

Yeah, that's what I meant. It sucks right now. With 4.56 it would put me back where I'm supposed to be. It just would be cool to have 4.88's cause I do tow and haul a little bit and the jump off the line would be sweet!

If you go to the 37's i would get the 4.88s.
If you plan to keep the 35s for a while then go with the 4.56 unless you really want some low end grunt then go ahead and do the 4.88s now. 2005 Ram Daytona #1445 / GoManGo! / Mopar CAI / Dip X D04 22's with Kumho Stx 305/45/22s / Auburn limited slip / 2-4 Drop/ Edelbrock mid-length headers / Custom True Dual Exhaust / Superchips Flashpaq / Pop&Lock Tailgate Lock / EVS II with Sentry key and remote start / Alpine, PG, and Kicker custom stereo / SilverStar headlights and foglights / Optima Yellow Top / AEM Wideband in SRT-10 Pillar / Retrax Bed Cover / Spray in Bed Liner |

Yeah, I'm going to go 4.88 for sure. I plan running 37's eventually. Might as well do it once, you know. I'm just going to have to wait a bit though, got a few other things to take care of first.
