Today, I decided to change my differental cover out for one I powder coated. After taking the old painted cover off, my eyes were in WOW. I was shocked to see all the metal shards that was in the oil and bottom magnetic pad. The ring is starting to show major signs of wear.

Keep in mind these are Motive 4.56's put in two years ago. Looks like I'll be buying some Richmond 4.11's soon.

On the other hand, the new cover looks great.

This is the second time I've changed out the oil and to change the diff cover. The first time since the gear change was about year ago or so. When we first change the cover out there was the normal amount of metal shards (barely enough to cover the magnetic pad.)

Problem was they weren't ever put in right to begin with from this shop that we first started going to. To top it off the guy dinged up Scott's truck to boot. Scott's rearend was always extremely noisy with that gear install and you can hear the gear wine like crazy over mine and Freds' both from that same shop.

I found a much better shop and so far Fred, Eddie, Ken, and my gears haven't had any issues from the new shop and they're quiet.
