Will my stock pinion bearing fit the new gear or do I have to buy the full bearing and install kit? Or will just the install kit work?

The install kit I got with my Motive 4.56 gear set has the bearings, shims, etc. But it didn't have new ring gear bolts. I bought new bolts at the dealership. I'd recommend new bearings and bolts.

Thanks for the replies. The kit im looking at is 28 bucks and has everything including the bolts just no bearing and the kit with the bearings is 140 bucks. So Im wondering if I can skimp on the bearings and recycle my old ones. I know I shouldn't but wondering if I could. Thanks again.

You can "skimp" on bearings now if they are in good shape. Personally i have allways lived by the rule PAY NOW OR PAY LATER and paying later usally means more. If you skimp on bearing now you might never have a problem. But if one of the bearing goes out you have to look at what else it is going to mess up. just my .02

Change the bearings. There not made to be pressed on, pressed off, and pressed on again.
Cheap insurance!

Ok I went to the dealer today and got all the mopar bearings to do the job right. Wow they are proud of these things. The carrier bearing alone was 50 bucks. Oh well whats the price on peace of mind I guess.
