A tuner with a custom tune? Diablo has the capability of tuning the fuel and spark. The Superchips 3865 will have transmission tuning capability soon.

If you are in the market for a chip, and you are brand new to the Hemi scene, I would suggest you start with the Superchips. They are a great way to wake your truck up. But if you are really heavy into performance and are looking into heavily modding your truck, then you should look into the chips that can provide custom tunning. The two options we have are SCT and Diablo. But being that you are an 07, you will only have the Diablo as an option because SCT does not support 07s.

Here are the main differences between the 3 chips.

Superchips = canned tunes (they come preset from Superchips)
Diablo = canned tunes with the capability to custom tune
SCT = custon tune only

paulmunz, if you already have a Diablo tuner then you are one step in the right direction in getting a custom tune. You can now go to a Dyno shop that supports CMR tunning with Diablo and they can set you up with the best tune for your truck and get the most out of it. If you cannot find a shop, you can always do email tunes with a CMR tuner. You will have to get a an Air/Fuel ratio gauge so that you can data log your air/fuel ratios and you will have to do other data logging of various engine parameters using your Diablo. What you would have to do is do a couple wide open throttle runs, data log your air/fuel ratio and other engine parameters like rpms, timing, and knock retard. You would then send that data log to your CMR tuner via email, he will analyze it and send you a tune to try out. You would then test it and data log it again... same process. You will go through this until you get the ultimate tune. Your goal would be to get your a/f's in the low to mid 12s and get the most timing out of it while not getting any knock retard.

And just so you know I am running email tunes and running pretty damn hard. Wink

well i would like to sell the diablo and just get a custom tuned chip. I have a buddy with a chevy, and he had a guy send him a cable to plug in to his truck. Then had him drive it for a week or so, my buddy mailed the data cable back to him about a week later the guy sent him the chip. Do you kno anybody who does this for a dodge?

If what you mean is a chip you actually plug into a circuit board, there isn't such a thing for our trucks. The tuners alter the programming in the flash memory of the powertrain controller module, which can't be opened without voiding the warranty on it. And nothing inside the box is removeable.
