okay, so i took the advice of Sil and Dave and used their reccomendations, with no regrets, as I don't know jack bout how to properly tune my truck, which is nearly stock. So....
I went out to an old abandoned, not usually travelled road and ran the girl to get some times, while I don't think they are bad for a pretty much stock Hemi, I GOTTA GET MY TIMES DOWN. So, what can I do to lower my times, whick I'm bout to post as follows:
60 ft = 2.69 @ 026 mph
330 ft = 7.00 @ 054 mph
1/8 mi= 10.61 @ 069 mph
1000 ft= 13.67 @ 80 mph
and finally 1/4 mi = 16.29 @ 083 mph
so, what can i do to get those times down??
any and all imput is appreciated
Mahalo

Do you have a superchip programmer?
Headers
Dual exhaust
4.56 will def help those times......along with some nos

Do you have rear wheel spin (burnout) when you punch it? If so go with widest tire that your rim can handle. (wider tire will give you more traction) mine are 20 x 8.5 and I have 305/50/20 with no rubbing woth them.

Burnout are great they remind me a a dog with long nails on a highly waxed floor. doing 90 and going nowhere.

this will show you the width of any size tire, front and side view & what size rim it will fit.

Also knowing the weight of your truck helps. You can go to any truck weigh station or quarry to get truck weighed.

Next time you run her make sure you have 1/8th of a tank of gas.... and that you're not carrying a bunch of tools, junk, etc. in the truck. Check psi in tires as well. Bet you see a difference in your times!

MDS has absolutely zero do with WOT 1/4 mile runs.

Pull out the spare tire and the jack. Rule of thumb is every 100 pounds you take off knocks a tenth of a second off the 1/4 mile ET. Some guys take the tailgate off too when they run.

Disabling MDS makes for a better running truck, at least in my case. My truck runs like a lug with it enabled.

Not sure about 1/4 mile runs because, I've never tested that. You're most likely correct.

i do have dual exhaust, although not true,(yet) I am running a superchip 3815 and no headers (again, yet) burnout is not bad, just a short screech when i initially floor it, then she runs. i do however, have bunch of shit in the truck to inlude a truckbox with LOTS of tools in it, and i never thought bout the spare. i am having to piece meal my baby as i can afford it, just an ole NAVY CPO with a wife and 3 ankle bitters to fed and care for, you guys know the deal. Headers and 4.56 are in the plan, but i am not mechanically inclined (yet) and as far as the rear gears go, i will have to pay someone to do it, as i don't have the knowledge or the proper tools. i am looking at headers, but having a hard time finding ones that will fit my truck (07 rc 1500 4x4) and are within my budget. 500-800 is just too much for me now. 260 cam sounds nice, but i have no damn idea what the hell that even means.i know what a cam is, but what do the numbers represent, and NO WAY, am i going to try that myself. I guess i'm looking for bolt ons that i can add piece by piece, as $$$ allows. thanks for the input fellas'

Quad cab? 4x4? Long bed?

Same with any vehicle, better intake, exhaust, gears, tires and less weight all make you're truck more efficient and quicker.

Unless you have a mega cab 4x4 I'd say a 16 is slower than you should be. I think most stock quad cab 2wds are running high 15s.

If you have a regular cab short bed 4x4 you're probably about the same weight as me which is about 5100 without my tool box and stuff. You're probably a little bit less than that.

With my tool box and tools, Full tank 35 gallons of gas I ran 15.4 with stock tires and I think it weighed 5200 lbs. I went back 1 week later still 100% stock without the toolbox, spare or tailgate and I went with about 1/4 tank of gas, 4850lbs and I ran a 14.81.
