i have an 05 Reg cab 1500. Only mod i have is a Cherry Bomb Glasspack dumped. put i plan on doing more mods like intake, gears, throttle body spacer. etc. thanks for your help.

From what i know the cortex has a 2 year warenty on the truck itself and that is the only diff. i know of. I am sure there is more and someone will be along to help you out.

If that's all the mods you plan on doing the flsahpaq will do the job Just fine. But if a cam or heads are in the future a Diablo is the one to buy

Performance wise they are identical, the only bonus you get out of the cortex is that 1 it does carry a 2 year powertrain warranty with it. So if you managed to break something in the powertrain they will in theory pay up to 8,000 dollars max towards parts/repairs for 2 years. I haven't heard of anyone trying it though.

The other big bonus of the cortex only applies if you trade vehicles often. The Dodge cortex will work on all dodge vehicles that superchips makes programmers for. That includes all 4.7/5.7 gas trucks, 5.9/6.7 cummins trucks, 4.7/5.7 Jeep vehicles, and 5.7/6.1 Charger, 300, Magnum, Challenger vehicles. So if you have a truck now and plan on getting a challenger then decide you want a diesel truck the cortex will fit them all. You just have to program it back to stock before you move it to the new vehicle.

Other than those 2 reasons though there isn't a reason to spend the extra money on the cortex.
