most of you who know me knows that i keep pretty much to myself, but for some reason i feel compelled to share this with my hemi family. phyllis flew out this morning. after 5 years of being diagnosed with COPD and severe emphysema and the continuation of smoking Phyllis's mom is in the hospital with pneumonia and CHF congestive heart failure. with a increasing need of O2 and lasix for overloading of fluid from the first hospital. once there phyllis fired the first doctor and is in the process of finding one who knows what he is doing. phyllis's mom had an echo and the right ventricle is damaged and is not operating like it should. her head ct is normal, she fell down and now her face is bruised bad. she refuses any mechanical ventilation (not that i can blame her,i really do understand the fear of that). phyllis is hopeful that she will pull though this of course. all i can do is

thanks guys. phyllis said she is feeling better and she should she has been on 24 hr iv antibiotics and they started her on heart meds. just one thing bothers me and that is her need for 3 liters/min of O2 yesterday to 4 liters/min today. oh well only time will tell. and again thanks guys.

well so far she has pulled through this, but with so much damage done to her heart and lungs Phyllis's mom will spend the rest of her days in a full time medical care nursing home.

good news phyllis's mom o2 regiments has gone down to 2 liters of O2 and phyllis got her mom into a nice rehab home. she is doing great she walk for 1 hour yesterday (with help of course) and can't wait to tackle the stairs in rehab. Phyllis came home yesterday only took 12 hours 3.5 hours flying time the rest waiting on take off and trying to get plane out of Atlanta. now she is enjoying the time with daughter after being gone for so long(
