Hey, I just finished my Active Duty service with the Army. I did deploy to Iraq and yes I have some shenannigans to work through. But, I also know that I am not alone in these endeavors and trials. I just ask everyone to pray as I try and make it back in the civilian world, and that the Holy SPirit would just minister to my heart soul and mind.

"Whenever anyone preaches disunity, tries to pit one of us against the other, through class warfare, race hatred or religious intolerance, you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedom and destroy our very lives...and we know what to do about it. Working together to produce an ever greater abundance of material and spiritual values for all. That is the secret of American prosperity."

So what have we learned in 2 millennia?

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."
- Cicero - 55 B.C.

Apparently, nothing......

"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young,
compassionate with the aged,
sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong.
Because someday in life you will have been all of these."

George Washington Carver

Salute thanks
Welcome home.
You will find many ears to bend here at HTC.
I can tell you from my own experiences that just because you are home doesn't mean you are mature.
I missed valuable growing up time. I missed the fact that there was more to life than me.
I did some immature things that hurt others and in the end result didn't really do anything for me.
I have a lot of life experiences behind me.
I respect my elders and listen to them because they truely try to help you not make mistakes that they have made.

I have been graced by God with a wonderful family and great freinds.
I have asked for and recieved forgiveness from those that I have hurt in my life.
I have also been able to forgive myself.

Some words of advice.
If you are not married, go get your party time in.
Take a cab if you have to. Don't put your life or someone elses in danger.
Get yourself a stake in life.
You can't share what you don't have to give.
Be honest and truthful to yourself and others.

Take aid or advice from others if you need it.
Share yours if someone else needs it.

In relationships, associate with people who you can trust and count on.
Be that person for others in return.

Personal reponsibility is the answer to almost any problem.
If you owe a debt, pay it in a timely fashion.
If you have a child, care for it in every way.
If you spill hot coffee on yourself.............................well you know the rest.

Thank you again for your service.
John D.
