took the 2004 SB SC to the track, has a hemi and air rail intake, cut egr, gibbson exhaust, gutted cats. and 22 SRT tims. truck ran a 10.2 at 68 mph, and 06 ram, same truck, new body went 9.8 at 71, i dont know his mods, he spun for a second then that was it. any mods that will help this truck. it flat out is slow and imbarassing at the track. im thinking nitrous, but probably a gear for starters.

anyone running about a 7.5 ET or faster , if so what does it take, what is your setup ect.. also what the biggest bang for the buck. tuner?gear? cam?

To get a sub 8 in the 1/8th your going to need a stroker! Eeker (or you could spray)
you can get low 8's in our 5.7 n/a, but its gonna cost. cam, heads, LT headers, tuner, cold air intake, exhaust, torque converter, and then some drag radials to make sure you get off the line. Some traction bars wouldn't hurt either.

I would say start with a tuner, get some lighter wheels for the track, and you could be in the mid 9's. Then go for the bigger stuff, LT headers, cam and heads.

ah i already have a race/street car, i really just wanted to get a respectalbe time out of this truck sitting here. heads/cam/LT/ converter and gear are where i might start, raise the compression, maybe forge the pistons and spray a 250 shot. im just waiting for HP Tuners to unlock the Dodge PCM to be able to tune.

I think we have overlooked something here by my thoughts! He is running 22's and probably has a 3.55 gear? Thats what im thinking!

10.2 for stock is about right,

I have a few more mods than you and im on 17's with 3.55 gear, My best 1/8th is 9.940 so that will give you some idea, Get some good NGK plugs, Maybee do the 6.1 coil conversion or get the taylor shorty wires, But all in all if your truck was mine, I would go get a gear!!!! Then Buy a tuner, and you will have a hemi that just woke up, with what you have done and gear and a tuner will put you into low 9's 1/8th, and on a good day 14's in the quater is seen for sure, thats benchmarks for ya and things that Id go with, Those big rims are the thing I think are killing your times, So accomodate with a deeper gear and if you put some 17's on for running the track it will be even better! The fastest I have ran is a 8.88, which at the same time I ran a 14.06 down the 1/4. That is not with the mods that I have in my sig though. I didn't have the custom grind cam and I didn't have the LT headers, I had the 6.1 cam and the mid-length headers, everything else was the same. The new custom cam that I have is too big so I'm going to swap it out soon. So i haven't been to the track since my last upgrades. Oh yea and now I'm SCT tuned, they do custom tuning for our trucks.

Do a shift kit, Tuner, LTs and gears and you will be pretty happy for a lil while. and its not that expensive if you do it yourself.

Realistically probaly high 8's or there abouts. Could be faster depending on track conditions and the rest of your setup.

it would be similar to your setup except no converter and a smallar cam. is a converter good for .5 in the 1/8 in these trucks?

The only thing similar would be a tune and longtubes. Wink

looking at your mods i see

268 cam
cleaned up stock 5.7 heads
long tubes
superchip tune
converter,

am i missing something here?

i was going to do

pocket ported stock heads and mill them to raise compression, very mild mod similar to you heads,

4.56 gears so dont need a converter
long tubes
6.1 cam or 268 comp
tune with hp tuners (when they unlock it)
hopefully run an 8.5 then spray a 150 to a 7.50 or so

Who knows what he's done since that 12.9x run he had last time out. Big Grin

sct tuner and hp tuners(when they unlock it) are tthe same. what are these undisclosed mods? i mean im running synthetic engine oil too, a local guy here was running 7.3s in his with a 225 shot. 8.2 on motor would be a decent starting point.
