Hi guys,

I am wandering what the top speed of the HEMI is.

I had mine wich is a 5.7 L 2500QC
so far @ 90miles and hearing all kinds of whistles and other wierd noises Confused

Is there a cut off like I had on the chevy? Mad
or does it just go untill the cops pull you over Big Grin or that you run in to somebody that thinks he or she OWNS the LEFT lane Mad

thanks

Henk

i think the factory speed limiter is around 109ish for the 1500's. My CTD 2500 cut off at 104 however, so i dont know for sure what it would be in a 2500 HEMI.
Superchips will enable you to re-program your top speed limit as high as 140, but please be careful, it is going to be hard to find an "E" rated tire that is rated for that speed! most tires (speed rating of "R") are only rated for 112mph, and even then only for short burst, not sustained distances. thumb2

depending on your mods, it is not unheard of for some to hit well over the 130 mark... We will not discus how i know this Wink

Ah,an answer to a question that was on my mind as well.
Also had this question in mind,What's the stock 0-60 time for a 1500QC ?
Most of the 0-60 times i find here are from allready modified trucks.

@Henkster,are you a dutch guy who went to live in the US ?

Phil,
Thank you for the info.

I am just wondering what it was and maybe other people here tried it.
my chev cut out at 100 Mph that dissapointed me about these trucks but then again they are alot taller/higher then a volkswagen or audi etc.

DB_cowboy,

I am dutch and live now in Utah.

A stock QC should run 0-60 in about 10 seconds, a RC about 9 secs dead stock.

Ditto on the tire ratings for speed. I have only wound mine out twice on top end. Once to 126 and once to 132 and there was more left. (GPS verified)

My tires on the other hand are only rated for 112.... Eeker

Hence, I don't do that very often.... Wink

programmers allow you to raise your cut out point to 140mph, wheather or not a stock Hemi will do it.....

i wound mine to 120mph once just to say it will bury the speedometer, there was plenty of pedal left so it's hard to tell how high she would have went.

Ive been to the 140 cuttoff, was a short burst, country road and on the hwy, but when the needle drops at 120 and stays there, and the truck finally shuts down and comes back, you know you made it! But 140 on r rated tires is a bit to handle cause the tires grow for sure and gets a little light handling, but I like to know what it will do! Big Grin
