im wanting to order a magnaflow y pipe soon and i was wondering i have a 2005 dodge ram rumble bee with 5.7l hemi and would i need 3in. inlets and outlet or 2.5in inlets and 3in outlet

its up to you man, the truck doesn't have to have a certain size. You could run full 3 in exhaust. Or you could run full 2.5 in exhaust. Really kinda depends on your mods. do you have longtube headers? or is it still stock? If you do have longtube headers, I would just replace everything with 3 in exhaust so you would need 3 in outlet and inlet. But if you still have the stock headers, then 2.5 inlet/outlet. Then I would also change out the whole exhaust system to match the 2.5 in y pipe. I believe the stock pipe is 2.25 but I have never measured it, its just what I have read.

ok well i know that when i had a flowmaster muffler put on and had to have some more pipe put on the guy at the shop said our trucks ran 3in exhaust pipe so i was just wonder if it all was 3 in or after our stock y is three inch and dave how you like your y pipe

I like it. My truck seems to breathe better. I haven't had a chance to get to a track to see if it helps. Since I got the y-pipe put on I got the 4.56 gears, Truetrac, and traction bars. All that together should help my times a good bit. Wink

oh yea it should you probably should be able to hit a 8.9 with that set up if not you should be a good 9.0
