ok guys i know this has probally been asked and answered before so i been watching videos on rams with cams so i want to get one to but dont know which one to get...do i need to do any modification to the engine for this mod???

lots of choices to go with. You would have to get something mild because there isn't any custom tuning for 08s. get a hold of Stu at www.interiamotorsports.com and he can help you pick a cam.
Before you go with a cam, I suggest you get supporting mods for your cam. Crazy jay! Less issues with tuning till the Diablo comes out. Once the Diablo is out, Stu has a few tunes that will be ready for the bigger cams for the truck. I'll try the Spartan later! hehehehehe
Call Stu and talk to him. He can explain it all with you. He'll also double spec each cam before you get it so he knows what your getting and can tell you what push rods to use. I'll be using the stock 6.1 rods. All the cams come in with the 6.1 base circle so the longer rods are better to control valve noise. I think the stock 6.1 are only $20. |

yes i heard people would get the 6.1 rods with a cam...is their any other mods i should install proir to the cam besides the e fan, headers, t-stat

I know that the TTI long tube headers had no fitment issues with 07's. I would search for whoever sells them the cheapest. I think they run at least $1000 for the system. I have the TTI setup and the only fit issue I and another person had was the passenger side motor mount needed to have an edge ground down a little so the header didn't hit and the hanger location doesn't line up. Not a big deal though. So far I love the setup. Not sure about an 08 but you can call them and see if it would fit

i was told by lonnie that the hedman headers would be a better choice witht the fitment

I have Heddman longtubes on my 07 and there were no fitment issues. I custom made my own y-pipe, so I am unsure about fitment of the Heddman y-pipe. I made my y-pipe out of 2.5" piping from the headers to a single 3" stepped to a 3.5" pipe. There was a very noticeable gain in power from low end to upper RPM.
