I wanted to make sure that other truck owners with the 5.7L hemi didn't have any issue with the clearence on the valve after install of the Comp Cam 268. The dealership was worry because of the install instructions. tomorrow they are putting it back together and before they try to start and tune the truck it will just sit well with me knowing my valve won't hit the piston and damage the engine. thank you

Dont quote me on this but I do know some of those underdrive pullies have been thought to destroy motors. Im not saying the one in your signature is the brand that people had problems with, but may be worth looking into.
Edit: I did a search on here, and that is the brand people have had ill affects with. Not saying it will happen but just a warning.

As long as the 268 is installed on the right ICL you won't have PTV issues. Your trucks not gonna idle though Smiler

yeah i research the underdrive pulley, and saw that people were having issues. I believe it was because it was earliler product that was just a pulley, and since the part that was being replace was the harmonic balancer the vibrations finnaly destroyed the internals. Hopefully the one i have will work, its a harmonic balancer, the only concern i had was the weight difference in the pulley. If i notice any excessive vibes i will just take it off and put the old back on. The few people that i read that install it said it was awesome just the company they bought it from didn't supply the right belt, and order took 6 weeks.... RPMOUTLET.... don't buy from them...

I have everything ready to install my Comp 268, aside from a programer. Will the cam idle rough or just not run without it, can it learn that much? I have a flashpaq, but you can't really alter fuel trim with it. What tuners are yall using and what do they go for?

It'll run eventually with no tune. But even after it learns all it can, it'll still die out all of the time, like when coming to a stop, or turning into a parking lot, etc. I drove mine that way for a month or two with the 268, it's no fun. If you don't already have a tuner SCT is the only way to go. They're more expensive than superchips, but IMO they are far far superior.

Are you installing the Comp 268 in your 08 truck? If so, do you still have MDS?

You can't "tune" for any cam per se with the superchips. YOu kinda have what you have, you know?? Another option yall might look into is installing a PSC1-003 to alter the A/F ratio. That cam can easily be tamed with that in conjunction with the superchips. I used that method for quite a while, but since I've went with the SCT custom tune, and the truck runs better. YOu can probaly find a used PSC/superchips combo in the classifides for really cheap right now.
