Anyone ever had problems with their headlight dimming when you hit the brakes to turn? Doesn't matter if on bright or dim. I can look at volt meter and is coming back up when it does it. It has never dropped below half way and is generally always about an 1/8th past halfway. This is driving me crazy.

Alternator/charging system problem? Any trouble codes?

My '07 does that all the time, will dim with blinkers, braking, anything electrical that kicks on while the headlights are on. It's never dimmed out, The truck doesn't loose idle or skip when it happens so I have not worried about it. My guess would be voltage regulator if it's an actual problem, but that is a guess.

my 07 does thats when im rolling the windows down with the headlights on they will dime for just a sec or two.

mine used to do that when the idle was 620 rpm and with the stock alternator , now with the idle at 680 and the 160 amp alternator it doesn't do it anymore

I have never had that problem but i have the bigger alternator with the tow package

It doesn't do it all the time only about the time I get used to it not doing it. Then I'll hit my brakes and bam they dim. It's just a split sec but enough to drive me crazy. It dosen't do it with anything else just when I hit my brakes. Maybe rpms are dropping for a sec or something. Just wandered if anyone had the same problem. Thanks for the responses.
