I decided to make a specific topic on this.

OK when my truck was stock you cant feel or hear MDS at all. I put a dumped flowmaster on it and you can definately feel and hear the mds. I didn't mind it but you can tell when it kicks in and out. So I put long tube headers, an x pipe and dumped mufflers and I realized that I can't feel the MDS> Cool, I thought for whatever reason my system left MDS undetectable.

So the other night one of my cut out caps fell off so I could REALLY feel and hear what my motor was doing. I was about 5 miles from my apartment so I just kept driving, a little highway a little city. NO MDS??? My MDS never came on.

Yesterday I got my Edge Evo and it has an MDS display that says when it's engaged. It never drops to 4 cylinders. The only thing I can think of is that since I'm throwing my rear O2 sensor code that the computer won't let it drop to MDS.

WHAT IS GOING ON?

You are exactly right. When your computer has a code from the O2 sensor the MDS doesn't work. Mine did the same thing when I had a code popping up. I just cleared the code and tried to keep the code from popping back up with O2 sims and the MDS started working again immediately.

07, Hemi, need more power.

Thanks, that is what I figured. I guess now we know how to delete MDS. I've been lazy and haven't welded in my O2 bungs yet. I guess I should do that.

monkey monkey monkey doh OMG Is this true you guys knew how to defeat the dreaded MDS and this is where the info is OMG! Tell me it's true? Is there any side effects besides the code popping up if I take my O2 Sensor out?

I second that notion...i WISH I could get rid of my MDS...although tow/haul has proved to solve all my MDS problems in city drving and it hasn't hurt my mileage...actually improved it

wire in an inline switch with the rear 02 sensors.... flip it off when you dont want them, back on when you do. Would be nice to know if there are any longer ill effects of running without rear 02's though? dunno

That's a good idea!!!

As far as anyone can tell all the rear O2 sensors do is make sure your cats are there and working.
