Im wanting to add a comp cam in my 5.7L...

Which cam do I want? 230,235,225?

Which tuner goes best with the cam..

And is it required, or help HP gain with 6.1L stuff..

I guess my main question is those out there with cams, what all do I need?

Cam, tuner, 6.1L springs, push rods?

SInce know one has answered you yet Ill try. There are a ton of cams out there right now. Someone with experiance with that would have to help you. Right now I believeSCT is your best bet to tune a cam.

I think most that go with a Comp cam go with either the 260 or 268, with the 260 being easier to tune, but with an SCT that shouldnt be a problem. I'm sure someone with more experience will pop in shortly. thumb2

From my own experience I have the comp 260 cam, and just the superchips flashpaq. Now it runs OK (no codes, idles good, helped get my heavy truck moving) but it still needs to be tuned to get the full benefits of the cam. I am waiting on DiabloSport to release the Predator for tuning. (have not ruled out SCT tune)

I have heard of others running the 260 cam and running their truck too lean, and burning up a piston. Mine seems to be OK though.

I suggest using the find feature at the top of the page, and entering your concerns. Alot of people have done this mod, and it might be a quicker way of helping to answer your questions. GOOD LUCK!

idea

I found that the guys down in the California section have done lots of installs, and experiments with different cams. I have done alot of reading down there. So you might want to try that too.
