Any advice on whether to go with Rhino liner or Line-X? The closest Line-X dealer is 2 hrs away and there is a Rhino liner dealer in town. The Line-X dealer in Dallas seems to have the better price but the cost of going to dallas and having to spend the day there out weighs the price difference so it really comes down to which liner seems to hold up better.

Line-X all the way. They have a nation wide warranty where Rhino does not. When my Rhino started to peel, I would have had to drive 1400 miles back to VA. to get it fixed, or paid a dealer in Texas to fix it. Glad I had not moved yet before it started to peel.

I have the rhino in my truck 5 years now and my truck before that for 3 years. Sure it looks used but it never peeled. Never seen a line-x to compare it to.

Here are some facts regarding LINE-X and Rhino.

According to Rhino's technical data sheets (which I have), LINE-X has a 31% higher tear resistance than Rhino Tuff Grip or Hardline. LINE-X has more than double the tear strength of Rhino's older Tuff Stuff product. LINE-X is the only brand that offers a product like LINE-X Xtra (prevents fading, more stain resistant, holds its gloss, fortified with DuPont Kevlar which is 5 times stronger than steel).

According to Frost & Sullivan (an independent firm that monitors various industries) in 2007, LINE-X captured 38.7% of the bedliner revenues while Rhino came in second at 34.6%. All other companies combined made up the final 26.7%. There are two significant items to note here. First, according to this data, LINE-X is leading the bedliner industry. Second, LINE-X and Rhino combined hold a whopping 73.30% of the industry. That number is up from about 50% a few years ago.

OK, now, you don't want to go to Dallas do you? Wouldn't you rather come to my LINE-X shop in Fort Worth?

All of your reply's pretty much summed up what I figured. After reading everything I could online, Line-X seemed to be the superior product. I just wanted to make sure before I drive two hours to get a bed liner. I'm in Tyler, so Fort Worth is a little further but worth it to make sure my truck is in the good hands of a fellow HTC member. Also, how do liners hold up to harsh chemicals? I run a swimming pool company on my days off from the fire dept and carry stuff like muriatic acid and chlorine, just to list a few.

I have a chemical compatibility chart but it does not list chlorine. I'm going to contact LINE-X Corporate for you and I will be back with their recommendations.

I have Rhino on my present truck and I have had Line-X on two previous trucks. Both are good products. I have never had to have any repairs at all ever on either brand of liner. The only real differance as far as how I use my truck is that it is a little easier to slide something heavy on the Rhino liner. And prices seem to vary by what part of the country you are in. Here in New Mexico Rhino is $100.00 cheaper.

I have had all 3 on my trucks. Rhino, Herculiner and now Line-X. I have only had the LX 2 months but it looks like brand new and I have thrown some pretty heavy, metal stuff in the back. Really too early for me to say LX is better than Rhino but I do like how easy it is to clean and how well it keeps its shine. Seems to be as durable as Rhino so far.
