I just scored a brand new MOPAR BedRug for the truck off E-Bay for $200. Well, it better be as that is how it was described. Better not be a 2nd or anything or I am going to be po'd to the max.

I wasn't going to get one until I had the Undercover hard tonneau on but I couldn't pass that deal up. Just saved myself $140 vs a regular BR from my local source( the MOPAR one has the Dodge logo which I like better )that I can use towards the HT purchase. The BR sitting here waiting to go in will motivate me to get a HT quicker too. thumb2

I "NEVER" win an E-Bay auction for this kind of savings/deal. The items I bid on always turn into a war and they end up going for more than I can buy local. FINALLY I make out.

Here is a stock photo shot of it. Love that logo they came up with. Too bad it doesn't have HEMI Powered underneath it.

How are these held into the bed? Do they just float? It may be the angle of the picture, but I don't see the tie-downs. Do you lose them with a rug? I've got a Snugtop going on this week and it's carpeted underneat, and I thought about doing the rest of the bed. thanks

The BedRug brand specifically( which the MOPAR one is to my knowledge - only difference vs the aftermarket BR is the Dodge logo )are held in via velcro strips that attach to the back of the BR and to the truck bed. It actually holds it really well as there are a lot of strips of velcro used to ensure a strong hold. I know I had to pull my BR once and it took some work to undo all the velcro.

On any other truck I have installed a BR in you did have to pull out the tie downs. I know some folks who will make a slit in the BR to allow them to poke through but I personally wouldn't do it. Basically the BR is just plastic fibers( woven polypropelene )attached to a closed cell foam backing. I would be afraid in time the slit would cause the BR to unravel.

I have to say I have never missed the tie downs personally. The BR is nice and soft to the touch but stuff just doesn't seem to slide around on it at all. I can see wanting the tie downs if you didn't have a cover on the bed so things don't blow out but if you have a cover I don't think the tie downs are needed. JMO.

You can find out more about them here...

Not a problem. Glad to help.

I have had trucks my whole life( 41 - so 25 years driving ). I started out with just the rubber bed mats and then drop in plastic liners. I moved up to spray on liners and now on to the BedRug. Hands down for my needs the BedRug is the best of the lot.

If you really use a truck hard as a work vehicle, haul ATV's in the bed, constantly have filthy/greasy/nasty stuff in there, etc... a BR is probably not the best option. For most people it is a great choice though.

I am a finish carpenter by trade so I love the extra protection the BR gives the raw materials( ie; wood, plywood, etc... )I haul and the cabinets and furniture I make. I also am an avid waterfowl hunter who owns some very $$$ decoys. The BR really helps to protect the finish on them while transporting. That is something the drop in plastics and spray on's did not do. They actually would damage the finish on cabinets and decoys and beat up the raw lumber.

While my last truck was not a Dodge Ram( 07 NBS Silverado )this is a good photo of the BR in it. I really love the BR and am so glad I tried one out. Another plus is they are cheaper than a spray on liner as well. $350 vs $500.

goodluck
