Hey all - I had a problem yesterday that I have never had before. I had the truck in 4x4 and while backing into a parking spot it felt as though I had the emergency brake on. The truck would rev and lean slightly but would not go backward. I had the truck in 4x4 all morning and backed into a spot at work with no problems?? Once I put it back into 2wd it works fine. I have been afraid to try it again. Any Thoughts??

I dont think so. It wasnt a real tight spot. I called the stealership and of course they had no idea except to "bring it on in". I tried it again this morning and no problems so far.  Its under warranty so if it is screwed up they can deal with it!! I bet that you did bound it up by the way you said it was a real tight spot... I would see if it does it again before you take it in. They will not be able to get it to do it again...

Do you drive it on the street in 4WD? I've heard it can really tear it up if you're not using it off-road or in low traction instances

Yeah it is not wise at all to drive in 4wd on the road, definitely tear up the driveline really fast.

The only time I drive in 4WD is when I really need it cause of snow and ice. My wife is always yellin at me cause I dont use 4WD when SHE thinks I need to.  And by the way I said it wasnt a tight spot. My wife does not realize how much we use 4wd since our Durango is full time. I had my Ram bind up a few times last winter... That's how I found out after my trans went out that some of the bolts were missing (the cross member ones)!
