Which are the best shocks out there. I am not going to lift my truck, but I am looking for better than factory since I live in Alaska and the roads...are not the best!

Bilstein 5100's are going to give you the best bang for the buck (see my sig line for part #'s). If you want to spend a bit more, go with Fox Racing. I had the Rancho RS9000X's, but felt they were too mushy and swapped them for the Bilsteins I currently have (much better ride & control).

Either way, you'll need to get 14mm bushings and sleeves, as both brands typically come with 5/8" fittings (except the yellow & blue Bilstein HD's, which will be listed as an OEM replacement and should have the correct fittings for the application).

Thanks for the Help. I am trying to get this thing to ride better for the road and weather conditions that I have in Alaska, plus I want to keep it ready to go off road. Any type of heads up for tires???

I can't vouch for the Dick Cepek FC-II's in snow, but they've been great everywhere else (bit of a PITA to keep balanced, though). I'd look at the Nitto Terra Grappler, BFG A/T, or Toyo Open Country M/T. The Hankook Dynapro RF10 AT has tested well, too. All of them are available in 20" sizes.

Looks like you can get either the AT or the new MT in an 18 inch. Smallest for the AT is 31 inches and the smallest for the MT is 33. If you're going to level your truck you shouldn't have problems with the 33's. Don't hold me to that though, I don't own a half ton.

Damn, missed the '07 part. Good catch. thumb2

You can still run Bilsteins in back, but your options up front are limited. The Rancho Quicklift may be your best bet there.

'06 - '08 use a different lower mount on the front shocks. It's not a standard eyelet.
