I have a ticking noise coming from my front passenger side tire. I can hear it constantly when driving or when I turn the wheels I can hear a pop. Today I going to take the wheel off and take a closer look at it. When I crawled underneath I notice a lot of grease on the lower control arm. Any idea as to the problem would be greatly appreciated.

If you are seeing grease thrown all around then you need to inspect the CV half shaft boot for a tear. Most likely you need to replace that side CV shaft.

Well I found the problem the boot by the axle housing is torn and the end that goes into the wheel is broken. I tried to fix it yesterday but it took most of the day just trying to get the hub nut loose. Hopefully I can get the rest fixed today so I can go to work.

I got it fixed today and there wasn't much of the cage left. It was broken into half inch pieces. At least Now I know what has to be done to put a lift on.

You can get new CV axles (CARDONE SELECT Part # 663316) from RockAuto.com for $75. It's always a good idea to have an extra handy if you drive your truck hard on the trails.
