Figured I would start a new post in case my question on another one is missed.

A guy on DTW has some Bilsteins for sale, but here are the part numbers....

F/R

part#52121458ac part#52121451ad

Not sure if these are what I would need or not with the torsion bar lift.

Also, on kenandjenn's old post he said that the spring is under load even with the truck jacked up. So should you use a spring compressor or is the new shock long enough to get installed easily with the spring all the way unloaded?

And do you need bushings and sleeves for just the fronts or the rears or what?

What are the differences between the
FRONT - BE5-6140-T5

REAR - BE5-6248-H5

and the
BE5-6528-H5 front

BE5-6249-H5 rear

As far as the installation is concerned, you do not need to unload the springs.

Sorry for the delay, I've been kinda busy elsewhere. 6140/6248 will work on a stock height or leveled truck. If you check my sig line, the 6528 and 6249 are the shocks I have on my lifted truck. So the difference is length. You'll need 6 ea of the 14.4 mm bushings and sleeves.

So I guess my question is the bushings/sleeves go on all 4 shocks? On both ends of the rears and just one end of the fronts? Is that what I am getting out of that?

I am not sure what I was thinking when i asked that. I was thinking my 03 had coils in front, but if it did, my 05 doesn't. dunno

I am pretty sure, yes. I think it has to do with the bolt size is different than the Bilstein bushing/sleeve size. Not sure why they make it that way. Sure is a PITA for us. Or at least offer a direct replacement option. Almost makes me want to go with something else that is a direct fit.

Why is it that these online places don't have a sleeve/bushing recommendation on their site for our trucks. Where do you find those? The few websites i have gone to offer all 4 shocks for around $270, but don't mention bushings/sleeves.

Shockwarehouse.com has the sleeves and bushings. Just punch in the part #'s in the search box on they're sight. Fronts are 25% off right now. I don't know why the back aren't. Frowner Front, back, bushings, and sleeves are like $305.75 shipped.
