I've got a 2003 SLT hemi 4x4 quad cab off road and I'm getting ready to put some new tires and my guest ion is what is the best leveling kit to buy for the front and what is the max tire size I can get underneath the hemi on stock wheels, I hoping I can go with a 305/75/17

Do you mean 305 70 17? Cause if you do you would be better off with those than the 75 series. The difference is a 1" width and same height and you would only have to do a level for appearance.

The 70 series are 33's and the 75 series are 34's,.. As for the kit,.. you can crank up your torsion bars to achieve a leveled appearance with a 33in tire.

Tire width is also a concern, mounted on a too narrow of rim can give abnormal treadwear and stressed sidewalls and lessen the life of a tire depending on the conditions you subject it to.

Thanks for the reply mudchucker
I’m not that familiar with tire sizes, I’ve got 265/70r/17 on it now and I’m only trying to get the front level with the rear and get as much height as possible with out adding a body or suspension lift.
cranking up my torsion bars to achieve a leveled appearance ,would I need to replace the front stock shocks and is a 285/70/17 tire about the same size as a 33?
Thanks for the help

It is 32.7 inches

A 285/75/17 would be 33.8 inches

Your best option would be to crank the torsion bars (lifting the front 2"). You should be able to fit up to a 295/70R17 tire without rubbing on the stock wheels. The 305/70R17's might need an aftermarket wheel with 4.5" - 5.0" backspacing (stock is 5.5"), although I suspect they'll clear on the stockers. 35 x 12.50's will rub, even on a 17 x 9 wheel with 4.5" BS.

Tire size conversion is as follows:

285/70R17 = 32.70"
295/70R17 = 33.26"
305/70R17 = 33.81"
315/70R17 = 34.36"

I would suggest swapping out your OEM shocks for some 5125 series Bilsteins. See my sig for part numbers, and don't forget bushings and sleeves (Bilstein shock eyelets are 5/8", Dodge uses 14mm).

Coming soon: Rough Country X-Lift up front, Deaver progressive leaf springs in back, and longer Bilsteins all around.

Ok I think I've got it, I going to raise the front 2.5" with the t-bars and I can use the stock keys, replace the stock shocks with the Bilstein 5125 shocks and I’m having BF Goodrich 295/70r/17 tires installed on my stock wheels and a front end alignment and I will good to go????

I just cranked up my t/b's 2 1/2" and the old 285 tires on the off road stock wheels looks out of place with the clearance I've got @ the fenders, I know that my old tires have a lot of miles on them ,but now I'm leaning more to the 305/70/17 bf Goodrich tire? Also should I have the front end aligned now are wait a week till I have installed my new tires?
Thanks for the help

Wait until you've installed the new tires. The larger size will have an impact on the alignment. Going with the Nitto TG's?

Haven’t decided on what tires I’m going with yet but after the T/B adjustment when going over speed breakers on the street I live on it fills like the front end is unloading, will the new shock take care of this? I’m not hearing any noise and the ride is good until I hit a deep bump in the road. dunno
