If I want to put 2" lift blocks on the rear will I need new shocks or can I get away with the stock onesfor a while? Thanks in advance.

As long as you aren't taking your truck off-road, you should be OK for a little while, but I would suggest using the block install as an opportunity to upgrade your shocks to Bilsteins. It's the best way to justify the purchase with the wife.
