I am getting a daystar 2" leveling kit on my 2008 Ram 1500 2WD and I need some opinions. I have one shop telling me to not waste my time replacing the front shocks. Another shop is telling me that you don't absolutely have to change the shocks but they highly recommend it as it will help prevent problems and make the ride more comfortable. The shocks they would use are ProComp ES3000. Which opinion should I go with?
Thanks! |

If you plan on keeping the look for awhile,.. to level I would replace the front spindles with 3" lift ones,.. You can retain your shocks and stock ride quality.
2006 1500 QC TRX4 Offroad edition, factory tow package with 3.92's My mods are located on or in my truck,.. I have come to the conclusion they work better there than posted on here. Zeitgeist:Addendum |

I have the daystar leveling kit and stock shocks. I have had it on the truck for several months now without any problems. I can not tell a difference in the ride quality. I would recommend it!

2wd or not, enough tire and skinny pedal you can do almost anything! LOL. I have the daystar 2" kit on the front, procomp es9000 all the way around, the truck is a little rough with the 9000's so the 3000's would be better, but the front shocks I do recomend changing but not necessary if your trying to save $ autozone has some shock extenders, 2" they do fit so there you go! My ride quality is rough cause the shocks, so if you use the stocks and put the spacers on them it will ride like a dream! DO GET AN ALIGNMENT after you get it done or do it up! I love mine, I have a bit of a baja look now with my front end with street tires and my rears are BFG all terain.

So I was excited about the Daystar 2" leveling kit; had it ordered and set to be installed the next day and then the store could not get a straight answer from the distributor. Finally, the distributor said they were not allowed to sell the daystar 2" leveling kits for 06-08 Ram 2wd as the coil over springs would pop out while riding on the highway.
Does anyone know about this? Are there any other manufacturers for 2wd leveling kits? Thanks! |
