There will be a lot of opinions on this one... and mine is to shut off O/D, put it in "D", and floor it (once you have traction).

My opinion is that for 03's you will benefit from manually shifting your tranny. 04's and 05's with superchips don't need to manually shift because the shift points are already raised to 6100rpm's. I have never tested the differencs between tow/haul mode being off or on so I can't comment on that, I don't see how it could make to much of a differnece though.

I take that back, on 03's the overdrive on/off button will keep your transmission from shifting into overdrive regardless of speed at WOT. So if you have 4.56's and short tires and your worried about shifting into 4th you should turn od off. That way you could take 3rd all the way up to the rev limit of the engine.

This past weekend I took mine out for the first time and ran 15:450 with it D and floored; 15:444 in Tow/Haul D.
Don't know if it makes that big of a difference but my 1/8th and 1000' times were slightly faster on the 15.45 run than on the 15.44.

Are these runs from idle or do you brake torque or what? I have tow pkg & stock gears.
I don't race but have to be rolling before she'll do her thing. Barely get a squeek out of the 20 in tires.
She's got a whole bunch of top end though.

99% 1/8th mile racing. Do a John Force burnout, make sure I am not slipping before i stage, use idle and drive, OD/O, leave in middle of second lite. If i leave at high rpm's, timing is taken out by pcm!

Start with getting the tires hot enough to stick..hopefully..

In D, OD on, hold 1400 rpm leave on the last yellow. Turn OD off after the 3rd gear shift.

And hope they prepped the track good enough....

If I break the tires loose I abort the run... Frowner

Can't get it back no matter how I try.

Before I had my superchip I tried everything from shifting manually to OD off and Tow haul. Nothing made a significant difference.

FWIW, I barely hit 3rd in the 1/4 with 3.55 and stock tires. With my drag radials I got about 6MPH into 3rd. I can do about 86 in 2nd. 55ish in first. No traction problems, never did a burn out. Did slight burn out with drag radials because I had a little more power. Still no traction issues.
