well going to houston motorsports track. its only a 1/8mile track there but any how it would be my first time to the track and i dont want to look like an idiot when i go to staging.when i lauch should i just up punch it from idle or should i rev up a little. my buddy wants to race me he has a 2006 silverado regualar cab 5.3lt he just has a cold air intake and superchips and throttle body spacer dont think the spacers worth 100bucks but anyways he got some JBA headers shorties that we are going to put on today. so we will see how he does. tha bad thing about his truck he has 24inch rims on it thats to big thats some power hes lossing there to turn those wheels. anyways anyone have tips let me now hopefully i see some people there from htc.

Do you have a posi? What gears are you running?

I have 3.55 gears with the stock limited slip and I could stall it as high as you can and I wouldn't spin the stock tires off the line. If you have an open dif you'll probably have to baby it off the line.

Just a tip in general, don't pass the staging lights. haha That pisses off the track guys. Everytime I go to the track I see 10 guys do it. Maybe when you get to the track, park it, let it cool off a little bit, go watch a few runs and then get back in your truck and see what she runs! Good luck

On a hot night that seems pretty good. What did your truck weigh?

I think my best 1/8 mile was 9.12 at 4800 lbs. Sounds like we have pretty much the same mods. Headers, cut outs, intake, 180 t stat, superchips and drag radials. I'm running a Diablo now and I'm about to install some 3.92s so I'm hoping to run low 14s in the 1/4 now. I'd be happy witha 14.3 in this weather (it's still 85+ degrees and humid at midnight around here).

Congrats you on your run. Did you only run once?

I lied, here is my best time slip

My best 60' time was actually before I did the headers and my 1/8 mile time is about the same before headers. That was over a year ago and my truck feels much quicker now.
