read the bottle really closely! when they claim they raise the octain by "3 points"... in the fine print on the back, it is actually .3 points! Frowner

if going from 87 to 90+ was that easy, the gas stations wouldn't even carry 89, 91, or 93 octane. they'd just have $3 bottles of octane boost setting next to the pumps Wink

it doesnt do any good if all you do is raise octane, you need timing adjustments to see any gains.

I don't know much about it, but I would say that is why a lot of cars are required to use a certain grade fuel. They are timed and programmed for that octane. So, I would tend to agree more than not with that statement.

I use 104 octane boost in my boat. It was the only thing I found that would eliminate the pinging . It must raise the octane more than point 3. Works for me anyhow.

Yep right on it Graphemi, works vice versa as well, you cant buy for example Superchips and set it for 91 octane and run 87, because the timing is adjusted for a higher octane that would cause some problems like holy pistons.Smiler

you need to find some NON-ethanol blend fuel. Wink

someone is starting to make some gas treatment now just for boats, because of all the engines being killed by this "new" fuel.

Why is that? Does it burn a lot hotter or what?
