Im running RP 5w-20, I usually just do a oil and filter change at 3k but this time im wanting to wait till 6k to change my oil and just drop the oil filter at 3k. So do I need to put more oil back in the filter since changing the filter obviously caused some oil loss? How much oil do yall usually have to add when you just drop the filter? Also whens the best time to check ur oil level to get a good accurate reading

Easiest way is to change your filter, add 1/2 qt,start engine then shut it down and check the level.

With the dual filtration system by Amsoil, the oil bypass and oil filter are on a vertical plain, so you can remove the filter, fill the new filter with oil, screw it up, and you should not have to add much oil at all. I usually change out the oil filter at 13,000 and then run it to 25,000 miles before oil change and both filters. Has worked very well for us.

changing RP every 3k???
must be nice to be rich  even every 6k ain't cheap, that's why i am considierng the Amsoil way to go. can't afford a $61 oil change every 6k....... it's got to be cheaper to go with Amsoil else go back to 'real' oil  ____________________________________________  “tribuo nos pacis in terra” The Truck and Mods: How should I know? It's her's I just make the payment. Her best time? House to grocery store 10mins flat. (takes me 30mins)  |

i have over 9K on Royal Purple, i just change the filter every 3K and top off the oil i will change the oil at 12k
