I have an 07 1500 mds. I have almost 7,000 miles and will need an oil change at 8,000.
Ive always used shell 93 octane gas and have changed my oil at 2,000 and at 5,000 miles; so i would like to think my engine is pretty clean. What would you AmsOil dealers reccomend that I use. Oil? Filter? Cleaners? I also live in Houston so it doesnt get very cold but it does get hot. I do landscapeing and moweing and during the summer I do alot of turning the truck on driving for any where fo 1 min to 10 mins then turn the truck off for 30 mins and repeat. I do this maybe up to 20 times a day in the summer not includeing wherever I feel like driveing after I am done working. I am aware of the wear of starting and driveing when the engine is cold and try to avoid it much as possible but all I can do when working is wait for oil pressure then put it in drive and go.
Thanks for the help and sorry for the long post.

I have an 07 also runnig AMSoil everything in it and you should be good to go with a straight change over. I'm using 0w-20w then run the AMSoil oil filter or upgrade like I did and go for the BK-13 bypass filters hoping to do yearly+ changes. Great oil for cold starts.

You can use either:

0w-20 (ASM) 1yr. - 25,000miles or
5w-20 (XLM) 6months - 7,500miles

filter (EAO42)
flush (AEFCN) with that low of mileage, I would say optional.

You don't have to use the Amsoil oil filter do you,.. cause I have been using Wix for years,.. and they look exaclty like my OEM Mopar ones.

My mods are located on or in my truck,.. I have come to the conclusion they work better there than posted on here.

No you can use any oil filter you want but depending on it's filtering capability's may need to change out more frequently. As with my set up I will be changing out one of my filters at lease a couple of times before I change out my oil just replacing the oil lost through the filter change.

I use the EA filter because its good for 1yr. - 25,000miles, same as the 0w-20 oil.

Do what HemiSuperBee says he is exactly correct. I also agree with him on the flush. For my customers with less than 20,000 miles I usually don't recommend the flush.

bigkumadog....if your running the bypass filter you should be able to go 40000 plus on the oil if using analysis. Change the main filter at 25k like recommended and change the bypass at 50k.. No need to change the oil at the one year mark if using the bypass filter and using analysis.

Mudchucker....Wix is a very nice filter but its still a paper element, the filtering capacity is very low compared to the Amsoil or Mobile one filter. These two filters use synthetic fibers and have much higher surface area, flow much better and protect longer. Amsoil filter used with there oil can go 25,000 miles. Amsoil oil used with Wix has to be changed at factory recommended intervals. Why waste your money, go for the long haul. Dont trust the long haul, have the oil tested in the lab at 12000 and see how healthy the oil is.

BigKumaDog....When you installed your BK13 kit from amsoil, where did you mount it and what fittings did you need. If you can please send me install pics, would like to see where you chose to mount it. If you can, please send a picture(s)to russellandalexis@gmail.com
Thanks
